The Nokia N96 is upon us, the much hyped successor to the much loved Nokia n95. I personally opted for an iPhone over the N95 due to the size of the n95, However I am now on the lookout for another smart phone as my iPhone is nearing the end of it’s contract. Some very cool features on the Nokia N96
The Nokia N96 is Nokia’s answer the iPhone, However they really have went above and beyond by turning this phone into a multi gadget, I mean with the 5 MP camera & advanced video features there is simply no need to carry around a digital camera anymore. With all the multimedia features you won’t need to carry about your iPod as the Nokia N96 has great video playback & is an mp3 player all on it’s own.
16GB of storage that’s twice what the N95 had, thats more like it, so if you have a massive collection of music & movies that you like to watch on the go another plus for the n96.
Built in FM radio, now when you’re travelling to the 9-5 by bus you can listen to your favourite breakfast radio show (mines chris moyles)
WiFi capabilities, this is a great feature that has been becoming a more regular feature on phone’s it’s great to be able to have all the information you need at your fingertips at a mind blowing speed.
GPS, yes this was on the N95 however with the improved RAM on the Nokia N96 I hear it is running alot better.
So why buy the Nokia N96?
Well this is the phone for anyone who finds themselves carrying about a combination of these gadgets: Digital Camera, iPod/MP3 Player, Phone, GPS Device, Video Player. The Nokia n96 lets you carry about 1 gadget that does alot of powerful things.

The Nokia N95 8GB model is definitely something to scream about and if you don’t fancy shelling out £279 for an iPhone but want the same amount of space then this would be a great alternative, if you get it on contract you get it for free! and it can be as low as £20 a month, with 100 free texts & 75 free minutes.
Sure this is all good but what exactly is so good about the Nokia N95?
A stonking 5 Megapixel camera you can even see the blackheads on your friends faces!
2.8″ VGA Screen, not the greatest however its a phone not a home theater system
DVD Like quality with stabilization, so for those of you with jelly hands no more fuzzy pics
Dedicated music keys, no need to press your phone buttons these keys are clearly marked
Built in GPS for over 100 countries, so if you ever get lost in the woods in Belgium you will feel safe knowing you can always find your way to a motorway to hitch hike
Supports HSDPA, High speed downloads so you will no longer have to wait on Myspace/Bebo/Facebook loading more like blink and you will miss it!
8GB internal memory, this is enough to fit in a DVD and a couple hundred songs which is only rivalled by the Apple iPhone
Integrated stereo speakers, these babies are loud and you wont need to hold your ear to your phone just to hear your music & it isn’t crackled like what you would get off some old tape.
Skype is a VOIP provider & Internet based instant messenger service (mainly for speaking not typing!) if you have never heard of skype then where have you been living for the past few years? They have a light weight and easy to use messenger system that allows you to speak to anyone with a skype account and with their Skype out you can make cheap calls to any phone number in the world, you will struggle to find any call package that rivals the prices per minute of Skype. But they have now taken it one further and built a mobile phone purposely for taking advantage of these cheap call rates or even just to talk to your friends on Skype. The UK Network Three seem to be the only network that offer Skype Mobiles at the minute (well at least here in the UK so if you make a lot of calls abroad or spend a lot of time on Skype then you may want to gander over what they have to offer).
It’s been 5 months since the iPhone was released in the UK and after all the hype of this gadget from apple you have to wonder why no-one has created real competition for the iPhone…is it really that good? Well in a word NO! As some ho has had the iPhone from the day it was released I am starting to despise this little gadget sure its probably the coolest phone ever made but it lacks so many important things the one thing i can say is it saves me on some pocket space so instead of having to carry around a phone plus and iPod i can just choose one… so lets get into why the iPhone is no good but still you have to buy it because their are no real alternatives!
1. The Touchscreen
This is my single biggest annoyance with the iPhone after 5 months of using the touchscreen QWERTY keyboard to text people iam still slow as hell compared to an actual button phone… the buttons are to small for my fingers and the fact that you cant flip the keyboard horizontally means you can’t get a real grip on the phone
2. The Network o2 suck….simple as they only have 3 plans available for the iPhone and there is no 3G means that the internet without WiFi is pretty poor and with EDGE barely available anywhere you are stuck with GSM and crawling loading times….
3. No Other Sims
So i have paid £279 for the iPhone and i have to use it on o2’s contract i cant even switch out my sim card for a pay as you go, even if my contract has ended….so without an o2 contract my iPhone is just a glorified iPod. And if you try to unlock it then be prepared to get your phone blocked and turned into a brick!
With all that said i would still buy one…simply because there are no other alternatives that look as cool, have the same functions and are not the size of a house.
The Nintendo Wii is the largest selling nextgen games console it has beaten out competitors such as the Xbox360 & the PS3, it just goes to show you that you don’t need super high quality graphics or superior game play as long as you come up with something original which is what Nintendo did. I have one of the babies and i find myself playing Wii Sports for hours on end and it is a real good way to stay active instead of sitting fading away watching TV or button bashing on the xbox or PS3. If you want to see the Nintendo Wii in action watch the video below.
Well now we get onto the real question is how do i get a free Nintendo Wii with my contract phone?
As you may well already know that many UK contract phone shops offer free gifts if you get one of their contract phones, now if your thinking right now that their is a catch then you would be half correct, when you order your contract phone you will usually get it within a couple of days but the games console won’t be sent out for up to 45 days after your contract has began….rubbish i know but this is to ensure that you don’t rip off the retailers and just order a contract phone for the Nintendo Wii….
What contract phones come with a free Nintendo Wii?
Well sorry to say that not all contract phones you order will come with a free Nintendo Wii it is usually only contracts which last 18months that you get a free gift with, this is to ensure that the companies can make their money back from all the calls you will make on your phone (as well as line rental).
Right you have me sold where can i see which phones have a Nintendo Wii as a free gift ?
Well almost all online contract phone shops offer a range of phones with a Nintendo Wii for free you can find some off them on our homepage or you can find some of the ones below
